No response on Gerrit for years, no response on the mailing list for one month. Should we drop it and re-implement when somebody has the time?

After a discussion, we are unlinking the ticket from a parent 353, to indicate it is not blocking 1.3. The ticket stays open.
Looking at the original patch 34363, it was merged at Sept 2019, which means the feature has been included in release 1.2. Since 1.2 was >2.5 years ago, and there are many users of 1.2 it is possible that the feature works (or no one using it). Either way we can transfer the feature from 1.2 to 1.3 as is.
We need to find out whether the are users of the feature (if there are, we can't just remove it from public API).
