Thinkpad T410i does absolutely nothing

Description

Hi,

my Thinkpad T410i is driving me crazy.
I've tried almost anything to get this laptop running in the last few days but it won't.

The current symptoms are, regardless what i am doing:

  1. Power On
  2. The laptop starts itself
  3. The CPU fan is starting to rotate for a few seconds
  4. The power button is starting to stay green (ON)
  5. The display LED at the display is going on for 1 second
  6. The light at the top of the display is going on for 1 second (light for better reading in the dark?)
  7. The laptop reboots itself after approx. 30 seconds
  8. The LEDs at the top of the keyboard are going on for 1 second
  9. Continuing at point 3.

The display stays black.
No beep or something else.

The best is the following: the exact same symptoms are present when i'm starting the laptop WITHOUT any RAM installed!
Some of you may want to ask me if the laptop is functional in general?

Yes it is. If i'am flashing the original ROM containing the BIOS from Lenovo and everything is working absolutely normal as expected.

Build environment (again) freshly built today incl. xgcc and such.
To transfer the ROM i am using a Raspberry 3 with an Pomona Clip.

KConfig:

Tried nearly everthing:

  • Board T410i and x201
  • with VGA ROMS extracted via sysfs, without
  • with VGA ROMS dumped from memory, without
  • with microcode, without
  • with several SeaBIOS versions
  • restored the original BIOS and flashed only the BIOS partition via flashrom
  • flashed the full 8MB ROM or partly (.BIOS)
  • attached the extracted ME, GBe, Descr., detached it (loading only BIOS to flash)
  • with me_cleaner, without

I'am currently out of ideads and can not simply attach a serial line for debugging :(

If you are unable to attach a serial console, please try getting the log using EHCI debug or SPI Flash console output by selecting CONSOLE_SPI_FLASH and reading it out of the flash ROM chip afterward. See the Kconfig help text for more information.
